Hey y'all! I've been reading the chatbox to our right and am honestly blessed to see y'all asking genuine questions about reaching out to your friends!
Yes, I know reaching out to our friends & convincing them to join us can be very challenging! Joel is quite right...a not-so-secret "secret" is to be persistent, and don't give up (yet) even after they've said "no."
Of coz...there are times where we need to leave them alone, but that's why there's PRAYER. We leave the "conviction" part to God (cuz ONLY He can do that) and at the same time we ask Him for WISDOM to know when to do what. We do our part in faithfully inviting and bringing as many people as we can, but not let their "show" or "no-show" determine whether or not we make the next invitation. We invite and bring anyway!
There are definitely practical ideas & strategies to consider, but we can discuss that at length another time :) However, Joel hit the nail again... our light MUST SHINE thru our lifestyle. Whether you realize it or not, your friends do observe you & they do notice what is different (or not) about you.
Deep within each person is a yearning for God - whether they admit/realize it or not. God put that desire there. And because of this, everyone is searching for that something, or rather Someone, who can fulfill that very desire.
As Believers and Disciples of Christ, we have the answer... the compass that can point people the right direction... and nothing speaks louder than a life(style) that reflects Jesus clearly. Someone said this to us Believers... "Preach the Gospel, and if necessary, use words."
Teens, let's not just speak the Gospel but BE the Gospel to our friends. Action still speak louder than words. But Words + Actions.... FUH... POWER!
Keep believing, my friends, for "unbelief achieves nothing." Together we will "reach the world of teens and the world through teens!" Let's go get 'em!
