''The Making Of A Disciple'' Series :: #4 Grow, Grow, Grow!

hey everyone. its my first time writing for Teenacity's blog so let's hope i don't mess things up.
im sure everyone is excited to go for the upcoming camp, right? i sure am..!

anyway, we had the final chapter in the "Making of a Disciple Series" by our very own Ps.Andy last 19th May!
there weren't many people present but still, as we are Teenacity, we had a blast!

Ps.Andy started off sitting on a chair, but we all know that didn't really work out well :D

To be a disciple, we not only have to grow old, but grow
UP.
Growing up is not automatic but an intentional commitment.

Ephesians 4:15>>
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.

You must :
want to grow;
desire to grow;
make an effort to grow;
and be persistent in growing.

Philippians 2:12-13>>
....-continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

Your part : WORK OUT
God's part : WORK IN

working out a salvation is working out something that is already there; like putting the pieces together.

We need to take our spiritual growth seriously.

Discipleship is about change and to change our lives, we need to change the way we think. When you stop changing, you stop growing.

Proverbs 23:7a (NKJV)>>
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he

You are what you think.
Your life is shaped by your thoughts.

Romans 12:2>>
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Change often starts with your mind.

The way you think determines the way you feel,
the way you feel influences the way you act.

Ephesians 4:23>>
...to be made new in the attitude of your minds;

Repentance;
or the Greek term "Metanoia" means a change of mind.

Philippians 2:5>>
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.

Christianity and Discipleship is not a religion or philosophy, but a relationship and a lifestyle.

P.S - if i made a mistake, don't hestitate to correct me :D
all Bible verses were taken from New International Version unless otherwise stated ;D
