A mark in history on the 5th of May, because Teenacity launched at 5PM this day!

That's right! Teenacity officially launched its new timing last Saturday. To celebrate this joyous occasion, we had the honour of getting the Actsream band led by Ps. Alex to bring us to a time of Praise & Worship! Besides, Rev. John Ollis came all the way from Hillsong Sydney to preach to us! How great is that? :)

Jeremy took us on a "wind-blowing trip" during ice-breaker time, followed by a great time of Praise & Worship. Then comes the most exciting part of the service... The Word! Woohoo!!

Some brief introduction about our speaker, Rev. John Ollis. He may be way past his teenage years, but he's definitely young at heart and even more, has a great passion for youths!

To start with, the message is entitled "Having And Keeping Your Eyes Open".

In 2 Kings 6:15-17, the servant of Elisha woke up terrified to see the king's army surrounding the city in which they lived in. As Elisha said a prayer to God to let his servant "see that those who are with us are more than those who are with them", God answered that prayer, and immediately the servant saw that the hills were full of horses and chariots of fire, all around Elisha.

Now here's the question: Are your eyes open?

Of course, we have to keep your physical eyes open almost all the time (except when sleeping) so that we won't bump into troubles or accidents. But now, we are talking about the inner, spiritual eyes. The eyes of our hearts, the eyes that see God.

When we are born again, we are translated from the world of darkness into the world of light. It is then that our spiritual eyes are being opened for the first time because we received The Light - Jesus Christ into our lives. Next, we have to constantly keep our eyes open to see what God has in stored for us in our lives.

Why is it so important to keep our eyes open?

We need to keep our eyes open to see ourselves. It is very true that sometimes, if not most of the times, we can't see ourselves as we are. We tend to be blinded by things that are happening around us that we fail to see ourselves, and more importantly, to see how God sees us.

>> Isaiah 6:1
When Isaiah prayed in the temple of God, he saw God's glory and holiness and instantly cried over his own unworthy and sin. When Isaiah saw the Lord, he saw himself.

This goes the same for us all. It is only when we open our eyes and see God's ultimate purity and grace, that we see our own weaknesses. We need to understand that we can do nothing without God. As we see and confess our weaknesses, we must let Christ take over our lives and let Him live in us and through us. Just as Paul said, "it is no longer I that live, but Christ in me." It is not about us trying so hard to be a perfect Christian, but us being perfected by Christ who dwells in us every moment of our lives.

We need to keep our eyes open to see ourselves as God sees us. Have you ever felt that you'll never be successful? Or maybe doubt your ability when God challenges you to do something more?

>> Judges 6:14-16
Gideon was a fearful man, quiet and timid; and probably because he was the youngest in his family, he felt that he wasn't important and couldn't do much. But God appeared to Gideon and told him that he will be a mighty man of war.

Gideon never thought that he will become a great man, but God sees beyond what Gideon sees for himself. Sometimes we too, underestimate ourselves; but in fact, God has purposed something far bigger and greater for us. God calls us righteous because Jesus has died for us. God sees us through His son Jesus. Thus, we must be alert, get our eyes open on how God sees us!

We have to keep our eyes open to see the ministry God has given to us. We can serve in different types of ministries, but the ultimate ministry that God gave to every Christian is the ministry of reconciliation. Our number one ministry is to reach out to the world because God wants to reconcile mankind to Himself in Christ (2 Cor. 5:21), and he wants to do it through us. Do you see this ministry as your God-given purpose?

We have to keep our eyes open to see our ministry towards our schools/colleges. Teens, guys and girls, there is only one you in your school/college, there's only one you your friends have. And you are the only way your friends can get to know about Jesus! Learn to see what God wants to do in you and through you in your school/college, allow God to just work great things out of you. You'll never know, by just obeying and doing His ministry, your friend will become the next pastor who will in turn bring souls to Salvation!

Let's believe that this generation will experience revival and the touch of God like never before. God has called you no matter how young you are. All you need to do is have faith and go for it. God will take care of the rest.
