1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (NKJV) >>>
24Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.27But I disciplined my body and bring it to subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
Its not how you start the race, its how you finish the race that matters more.
To win, we must
a) Begin with the End in the mind. (Vision)
Habakkuk 2:2 (NKJV) >>>
Then the Lord answered me and said:"Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it."
b) Prepare well. (Training)
c) Wear the right clothes. (Equipping)
Ephesians 6:13 (NKJV) >>>
Therefore, take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
d) Have guides and measure yourself. (Accountability)
Proverbs 11:14 (NKJV) >>>
Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.
e) Pace yourself. ( Balancing)
f) Keep breaking barriers. ( Challenge/growth/process)
Romans 5:3-4 (NKJV) >>>
3And not only that, we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance.4And perseverance, character; and character, hope.
g) Leave and live a legacy. (Influence/finishing well)
h) Don't give up, keep moving forward. (Relentless)
Hebrews 12:1-2 (NKJV) >>>
1Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.2 Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who for joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
